The Nanomaterials Characterization Facility (NCF) is a multi-user, interdisciplinary facility that is open to Students, Staff, and Faculty from The University of New Mexico, as well as to users and scientific collaborators from other Academic Institutions and Industry. The laboratory was developed through a strong collaboration between the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences and the Center for Micro-Engineered Materials (CMEM) at UNM. Additionally, we are part of the Interdisciplinary Sciences Coop at UNM.

NCF provides state-of-the-art electron microscopy instrumentation services, advanced x-ray characterization capabilities, and conventional sample preparation tools. Our facility is supported by the State of New Mexico, the National Science Foundation, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

The NCF is managed by Dr. Angelica Saenz-Trevizo
