Research and Academic Interests:
Dr. Angelica Saenz Trevizo is a Senior Research Scientist III and Laboratory Manager at the Nanomaterials Characterization Facility (NCF) at the University of New Mexico, where she leads the Electron Microscopy and Sample Preparation Laboratories. Her work centers on advanced electron microscopy and analytical techniques, supporting multidisciplinary research across materials science, engineering, planetary sciences, and nanotechnology
She earned her Ph.D. in Advanced Materials from the Advanced Materials Research Center (CIMAV) in Mexico, where she specialized in nanostructured thin films synthesized via Aerosol-Assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition (AACVD). Her doctoral work focused on multilayer oxide systems for photocatalytic and functional material applications. Her research contributions span nanostructured oxides, thin‑film engineering, photocatalysis, and environmental nanomaterials, with recent works devoted to exploring residual contrast agents in tissue.
